RapidDeploy Plugin for IBM WebSphere Application Server
Plugin for WebSphere Application Server Base and Network Deployment Editions.
Overview
The IBM WebSphere Plugins for RapidDeploy allow you to create, configure and manage IBM WebSphere instances. There are plugins for all current versions of IBM WebSphere.
Install:
By using the RapidDeploy IBM WebSphere plugins you can install IBM WebSphere binaries using the IBM Installation Manager (IIM) task supplied with these plugins.
Configure:
The IBM WebSphere plugins allow you configure the IBM WebSphere installation, tailoring the installation to your requirements. Templates are provided that can simplify getting started with WebSphere configuration.
Most settings you can edit in the WebSphere console can be configured using the RapidDeploy Plugins, from security settings to clusters, database and many other resources.
Deploy:
These plugins allows you to deploy your ear or war files to your IBM WebSphere installations and configure application specific settings such as resource references, classloader policies, startup orders etc.
Snapshot:
Use these plugins to snapshot WebSphere installations so that you can compare snapshots over time to identify changes and configuration drift. You can use either JMX or file based snapshot techniques.
Download
By default a new instance of RapidDeploy should come with the latest version of the WebSphere plugin already installed. If you have a direct internet connection and need to update the plugins for any reason the easiest way to do this is via the Plugin Manager when you are logged into RapidDeploy. Log in to RapidDeploy and go to:
System -> Plugin Manager -> Available Plugins Tab

Resources
These plugins are shipped with the RapidDeploy installation by default.A complete set of tasks and actions for the plugins is available within RapidDeploy when the plugins are installed using the Plugin Manager. The task help is contextual and provides information on the values and attributes required to configure these plugins.
Available Plugins:
- WebSphere 7 (for WebSphere 7 and earlier versions, down to WebSphere 5.0)
- WebShere 8
- WebSphere 8.5 (For WebSphere 8.5, 9.0 and later versions)
Plugin Components:
- The plugin adds tasks to the server orchestration task list to enable you create and manage WebSphere instances.
- The plugin adds templates for Application, Cluster, Data Source and Standard (allows you to create most WebSphere resources, clusters, deploy applicarion, security etc)
